Since the refrigeration system is mounted on the top, it does not run near floor debris and dust. This placement maximizes cabinet space, though it does operate in a warmer area of the kitchen than bottom-mounted units. An automatic defrost system melts ice that builds up on components, with cycles running on a timer and concluding when the temperature is back to an ideal level.

Chrome, adjustable shelves in the True STR3F-6HS-HC three-section reach-in freezer hold stored items and have a wire design that encourages even airflow. LED lights in the refrigerator provide visibility.
