Running through the self-contained capillary tube system, R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant keeps the True TUC-48F-HC undercounter freezer at an average temperature of -10 degrees Fahrenheit. The condenser and evaporator fans provide even airflow, reducing heat production and conserving energy. Its evaporator is epoxy coated to resist corrosion, and for cleanup and maintenance, the condensing unit is accessible from the rear and conveniently slides out.

To maintain a clean condensing coil, the condensing fan motor automatically directs air toward the coil by blowing in reverse for 20 seconds when the compressor turns on. This mechanism helps improve coil efficiency by removing buildup, requiring less energy usage. To ensure the coil is operating correctly over time, preventive maintenance should be incorporated regularly.

To ensure cold air stays inside, the doors close if opened less than 90 degrees, and past this point, the doors stay open, so products can be efficiently loaded and the interior can be quickly cleaned. Product is stored on four PVC-coated wire shelves, and if there are product spills, debris and liquids are not stuck in the corners because they are coved. Its aluminum interior liner and exterior stainless steel construction are durable to withstand heavy use. For cold-air retention, the True TUC-48F-HC undercounter freezer has polyurethane insulation that has been foamed in place.
