The 8-quart-capacity bowl on this Globe SP8 planetary mixer is made of durable stainless steel, and the bowl is relatively heavy, especially when filled with ingredients, so a bowl lift is built into the system to reduce operator strain. A polycarbonate splash guard surrounds the top of the bowl, preventing ingredients from spilling out of the sides as the agitator rotates around the bowl. Because an ingredient chute is integrated into the guard, users can add product without stopping operation.

Mounted on the front of this Globe SP8 bench model commercial mixer, a digital touchpad enables users to control the settings. It includes a speed switch with three fixed settings—132, 234, and 421 RPM—and a 15-minute digital timer. The unit’s transmission transfers power from the motor to the agitator, and its gear-driven design reduces the need for repairs. Wire whip, flat beater, and dough hook agitators are included to mix different types of products, from cake batters and mashed potatoes to whipped cream and meringues.
