The Hoshizaki KMS-2000MLJ Serenity ice machine head produces crescent cube ice—half-size cubes that have a curved side to fit in drinking glasses. In 24 hours, it can produce 1,926 pounds of ice for high-volume operations. This ice maker is cooled using a condensing unit that operates remotely and is sold separately—this enables users to control heat and noise levels around the ice maker.

The CycleSaver™ feature of this Hoshizaki KMS-2000MLJ crescent cube ice maker enables the unit to create the same amount of ice in fewer cycles than standard models; this reduces energy consumption and lengthens the lifespans of components. When issues arise in the ice maker, the system notifies the operator with a series of beeps, with each beep pattern representing a specific diagnosis. Antimicrobial protection is integrated into the components, inhibiting bacterial growth that could cause issues with the system.
